It functions properly (I had been skeptical due to the low price!). Now I'm actually glad that I lost our original composite cable, and decided to switch to component connection--the picture quality is clearly superior now.

Got this last year with my wife wondering why? She couldn't believe the difference. Definitely sharpens all the edges and shows a wii can have good graphics. Fantastic value for money. Red video and audio cables have different red/grey colour patterns so it's easy to tell them apart, some cables you can buy aren't lke this.

Connected to my Samsung LED TV and had a picture straight away, no fiddling around needed.
Wii menu then had the 480p mode selectable and am now using that mode with a perfect picture.
Great value for the £2.05 I paid including delivery.

You only get 420p not full HD but it is still miles better than standard resolution.
If you have an HD TV then you want this cable!
This cheap one works fine.
Had to search the Web for how to install it but you have to plug the new cable in to the Wii then put the green wire where the yellow wire was (from the original cable), which gives a usable B&W image, change the Wii settings to Component video then put the green wire in the green component video socket along with the rest of the CV wires.
